The 2D to 3D tool for Inventor is our free technology preview that allows you to quickly create 3D models from 2D-designed parts. Activated as part of file import, the 2D to 3D Tool automatically transforms drawing views into orthogonal sketches, significantly streamlining the preparation of 2D views for 3D uses.
Based on your feedback, this update corrects the following issues for the 2015 version:
1518266: Customer Error Report: Inventor will crash when loading 2D to 3D add-in
1518267: Customer Error Report: Inventor will crash when switching between 2 dwg file after unloading 2D to 3D add-in.
1517296: Customer Error Report: Inventor will crash when setting base view of a 2D sketch using the 2D-3D add-in
The tool is available for Inventor R11 through Inventor 2015. If you have not downloaded it yet, or if you have the original 2015 version, you can download the tool from the Autodesk Labs project:
